Terms & Security
Last Updated: August 9, 2026
At Zareea, we believe payments should be simple, transparent, and secure.
These Terms & Security provisions explain how Zareea works, how payment requests are handled, how your information is protected, and the responsibilities of customers, merchants, and other participants using Zareea.
By accessing or using Zareea, you agree to these Terms & Security provisions.
The merchant requests. You choose. Your financial institution authenticates and processes the payment.
01About Zareea
Zareea is a payment experience and connectivity platform that connects customers, merchants, and participating financial institutions.
Zareea makes it possible for customers to receive payment requests, review them, choose a participating financial account, authenticate through the applicable financial institution, and receive payment confirmation.
The Zareea payment experience follows a simple flow:
Request → Review → Choose → Authenticate → Pay → Confirm
A merchant creates a payment request using the customer's Zareea ID. The customer receives and reviews the request. The customer chooses whether to proceed. If the customer proceeds, they select an available participating financial account. The customer then completes the authentication required by the applicable financial institution. The financial institution authorizes and processes the payment through the applicable payment infrastructure. Zareea receives the relevant transaction status and provides the appropriate payment confirmation.
Zareea is designed to connect the financial ecosystem rather than require customers or merchants to replace the financial services they already use.
02What Zareea Is
Zareea provides the technology and payment experience that connects:
- check_circleCustomers
- check_circleMerchants
- check_circleParticipating banks
- check_circleDigital wallets
- check_circleFinancial institutions
- check_circleApplicable payment infrastructure
Zareea enables customers to manage their payment experience while keeping their participating financial accounts connected through one platform.
Zareea does not require a customer to maintain a separate Zareea monetary balance.
03What Zareea Is Not
Zareea is not:
- closeA bank
- closeA digital bank
- closeA deposit-taking institution
- closeA traditional stored-value wallet
- closeA replacement for your bank or financial institution
- closeA custodian of customer funds
Your money remains with the applicable participating financial institution.
Zareea provides the payment experience and connectivity layer through which customers can receive requests, select participating accounts, and manage their payment activity.
04Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing the Zareea website, creating an account, using the Zareea application, creating or responding to a payment request, or using any Zareea service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Security provisions.
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use Zareea.
Certain Zareea services may also be subject to additional terms, agreements, disclosures, or requirements.

07Your 6-Digit Zareea ID
Every Zareea customer is assigned a unique 6-digit numeric Zareea ID.
Your Zareea ID provides a simple payment-facing identity that can be used by merchants when creating payment requests.
482 731
Example Zareea ID
Your Zareea ID consists of six numeric digits.
It allows a merchant to identify the intended Zareea customer without requiring the merchant to know the customer's preferred bank or wallet.
08Your Zareea ID Is an Identifier
Your Zareea ID identifies your Zareea payment destination.
It is not:
- closeA password
- closeA PIN
- closeAn OTP
- closeA bank account number
- closeA wallet password
- closeAn authentication code
Knowing your Zareea ID does not authorize a payment.
A payment requires the appropriate customer approval and financial-institution authentication and authorization.
6-Digit Zareea ID → Identifies the customer
Customer Approval → Approves the payment request
Financial Institution → Authenticates and authorizes
Payment Infrastructure → Processes the payment
09Sharing Your Zareea ID
You may provide your 6-digit Zareea ID to merchants when you want them to send you a payment request.
"My Zareea ID is 482 731."
The merchant can enter the six-digit ID into the Zareea merchant interface and initiate a payment request.
Sharing your Zareea ID does not provide another person with access to your bank account or wallet.
It does not authorize anyone to withdraw funds from your financial account.
You should nevertheless share your Zareea ID responsibly and with people or businesses you intend to transact with.
10Customer Name Verification
When a merchant enters a customer's 6-digit Zareea ID, Zareea may display the customer's name before the payment request is sent.
This allows the merchant to verify that the entered Zareea ID belongs to the intended customer.
Enter 6-Digit Zareea ID
↓
Customer Name Appears

Merchant Verifies Customer

The merchant does not receive the customer's bank PIN, OTP, password, or other sensitive financial authentication information through this process.
11Zareea ID Changes
Where available, customers may be permitted to change their Zareea ID.
Any change may be subject to:

A merchant can create a payment request by entering:
- check_circleCustomer's 6-digit Zareea ID
- check_circlePayment amount

Before sending the request, the merchant may verify the customer's displayed name.
The merchant then selects: Request Payment
The payment request is sent to the intended customer's Zareea account.
The merchant does not need to know which bank or wallet the customer intends to use. The customer chooses the participating financial account.

A customer may receive a payment request containing information such as:
- check_circleMerchant name
- check_circleMerchant information
- check_circleAmount
- check_circleDescription

17Choosing Your Payment Account
When you choose to proceed with a payment request, Zareea may display the participating financial accounts connected to your account.
Bank Account ••••1234

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Zareea.
General
What is Zareea?
Zareea is a payment experience and connectivity platform that connects customers, merchants, banks, digital wallets, and other participating financial institutions. With Zareea, customers can receive a payment request, review it, choose which connected financial account they want to pay from, authenticate the payment through the applicable financial institution, and receive confirmation. Request → Review → Choose → Authenticate → Pay → Confirm
Why was Zareea created?
Zareea was created to make everyday payments simpler. Instead of requiring merchants to know which bank or wallet a customer uses, Zareea gives customers a simple payment identity and allows them to choose their preferred participating financial account when making a payment. One payment experience. Multiple financial accounts. More choice.
Is Zareea a bank?
No. Zareea is not a bank or a deposit-taking institution. Zareea connects customers and merchants with participating financial institutions and provides the payment experience through which payments can be requested, selected, authenticated, and confirmed.
Is Zareea a digital wallet?
Zareea is not a traditional stored-value wallet. Your money remains with your participating bank, digital wallet, or financial institution. Zareea allows you to connect eligible financial accounts and choose which one you want to use when responding to a payment request.
Does Zareea hold my money?
No. Your funds remain with the applicable participating financial institution. Zareea does not require you to transfer money into a Zareea balance before making payments.
Zareea ID
What is a Zareea ID?
A Zareea ID is your unique 6-digit numeric payment identifier. For example: 482731. Your Zareea ID allows a merchant to identify your Zareea payment destination and send you a payment request.
Is my Zareea ID the same as my phone number?
No. Your Zareea ID is separate from your mobile number. It is a unique 6-digit numeric identifier created for your Zareea account.
Can someone pay me using my Zareea ID?
Yes. A merchant can use your 6-digit Zareea ID to create a payment request for you. You receive the request, review it, and decide whether to proceed.
Can someone take money from my account if they know my Zareea ID?
No. Your Zareea ID is an identifier, not an authorization credential. Knowing your Zareea ID does not give anyone access to your bank or wallet account and does not authorize a payment. A payment requires your approval and the applicable financial institution's authentication and authorization process.
Can I share my Zareea ID with a merchant?
Yes. You can provide your Zareea ID to a merchant when you want them to send you a payment request. For example: "My Zareea ID is 482731." You should still share it responsibly and only with people or businesses you intend to transact with.
Merchant Payment Requests
How does a merchant request payment?
A merchant enters: 1) Your 6-digit Zareea ID, 2) The payment amount, 3) A payment description. Zareea may display your name after the ID is entered so the merchant can verify that the payment request is being sent to the correct customer. The merchant then sends the request.
Does the merchant see my bank or wallet?
The merchant does not need to know which participating bank or wallet you intend to use. You choose your financial account after receiving the payment request.
Can a merchant choose my bank for me?
No. The merchant creates the payment request. You choose which participating financial account you want to use to complete the payment.
Making a Payment
How do I pay a Zareea payment request?
1) Review the request (check merchant, amount, and description). 2) Choose what to do (Reject or Proceed). 3) Select your financial account. 4) Authenticate through the applicable financial institution. 5) Once processed, Zareea displays the payment status.
Can I choose which bank or wallet I use?
Yes. If you have multiple participating financial accounts connected to Zareea, you can choose the account you want to use for a payment.
Does Zareea know my bank PIN?
Zareea does not require you to provide your bank PIN to Zareea. Authentication is handled through the applicable financial institution's secure process.
Payment Status
How do I know if my payment was successful?
After the applicable financial institution or payment infrastructure provides the payment status, Zareea can display the result. A successful payment will be shown as "Payment Successful" and may include a transaction ID and digital receipt.
What does "Pending" mean?
A pending payment means that a final payment status has not yet been received. You should avoid making the same payment again until the status is clear, unless you have confirmed that the original payment did not complete.
Will I receive a receipt?
Where supported, Zareea can provide a digital receipt after a completed transaction. The receipt may include: Merchant, Amount, Transaction ID, Date, Time, and Payment Status.
Security
Is Zareea secure?
Yes. Zareea is designed with security as a core part of the payment experience. Zareea separates responsibilities between the payment experience and financial authentication. Zareea handles the payment request and customer experience, while the applicable financial institution handles authentication and authorization.
Is my Zareea ID a PIN?
No. Your 6-digit Zareea ID is an identifier. It is not a PIN, password, OTP, or authentication code.
What should I do if someone asks for my PIN or OTP?
Do not share it. Zareea does not require you to give your PIN or OTP to a merchant or another person. If someone claims to represent Zareea and asks for sensitive financial credentials, stop the interaction and contact Zareea through an official support channel.
